Contains amoxicillin trihydrate, a beta-lactam antibiotic in a double-strength formulation (usually 250 mg/5 ml).

Supplied as a dry powder to be reconstituted into a suspension (100 ml bottle) before use.
Therapeutic Use

A broad-spectrum antibiotic, effective against many Gram-positive and some Gram-negative bacteria.

Commonly prescribed for infections such as respiratory tract infections (e.g., bronchitis, pneumonia), ear/nose/throat infections, urinary tract infections, skin infections, and more.
Dosage & Administration

Shake well after reconstitution.

Typically administered 2–3 times daily, dosage adjusted by age, weight, and severity—in adults and children.

Reconstituted suspension may be mixed with milk, fruit juice, or water and must be used promptly.
Contraindications & Precautions

Contraindicated in individuals allergic to penicillin.

May interact with probenecid, increasing amoxicillin levels.

There’s evidence that it may alter gut flora, potentially reducing oral contraceptive effectiveness.
Adverse Effects

Side effects are generally mild and transient: diarrhea, nausea, abdominal discomfort, occasional rash.

Rarely, more serious reactions such as pseudomembranous colitis may occur.
Storage
